Dr. Michael Fife is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College. Upon his return home in 2011 he opened Fife Animal Hospital where he worked to foster relationships with his team, patients and clients alike. Born and raised here in Chatham he wanted to be able to provide a caring and compassionate experience to his many friends, family members and fellow residents of his hometown. You can now find him here at Egan Fife Animal Hospital after having joined an equally caring and compassionate partner in Dr. Sean Egan. Previously a business manager in Chatham, Dr. Fife attended primary and secondary schools in Chatham. Ridgetown College is where he attained a diploma in Veterinary Technology and continuing his education to become a veterinarian at the University of Guelph. While at school in Guelph he studied agriculture and animal science, participated in research, held many posts as student representative of the University’s Senate, undergraduate student association as well as president of the Ontario Veterinary College. In his final year of Veterinary College Dr. Fife also received training as a veterinary chiropractor and is certified by the American and Canadian College of Animal Chiropractic to practice Veterinary Chiropractic. Since then you can find him attending multiple continuing education events to provide the most current therapies and surgical techniques for the animal companions of Chatham-Kent. He now offers his expertise in soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery (bone) including cruciate ligament injury (TTA technique), patellar (knee cap) luxation repair, fracture repair and advanced ophthalmic (eye) surgery to name a few following certification courses in these specialty approaches and techniques.
